COVID Safety - We understand that COVID 19 is a serious illness. Although we are no longer requiring masks in our office, if you feel safer wearing a mask, we will happily wear a mask as well. We want you to be comfortable and able to relax for your appointment. We disinfect our massage tables and commonly touched surfaces after each appointment. We installed an air purification system to our HVAC system in October 2020 called iWave, and it purifies the air as the system operates.

-
Where is your office?
We have offices located in our HOME in Longmont, and in Boulder at the Marine Street Wellness Center.

-

-
How many appointments will I need before I know if massage will help me?
We feel that after your first appointment, you should be able to tell that the work we do will be helpful. If we feel like it will be best for you to consult another professional, we have referral information for many excellent providers. We want you to have the best healthcare possible.
-
How often should I get a massage?
Our goal is to help you feel better so you can focus on enjoying your life. We are happy to see you on an "as needed" basis. Many of our regular massage recipients choose to come in every 2-8 weeks in an effort to be proactive about their health. You can discuss this with your therapist after he/she has a hands-on understanding of your individual needs.

-
Am I supposed to take my clothes off?
Many of our massage recipients prefer to remove most or all of their clothing. This allows the full range of massage treatment options. The therapist leaves the room while you undress and get under a top sheet and blanket. You remain covered, except for the area being worked on. Some choose to leave their clothes on, and find that we can still do effective work. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and are able to relax.

-
What if I can't lay face down?
No problem! We understand that vertigo, pregnancy, neck pain and other conditions may prevent you from lying face down. We are experienced with treating people in face-up and side-lying positions. We also have massage tables that allow us to incline your upper body.
-
When should I NOT get a massage?
There are a few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying massage. You should not receive a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection. That’s it. There are many other conditions in which your therapist may need to adapt his/her techniques.
-
What should I do after a massage and how will I feel?
Most normal activities will be fine, but you should avoid heavy lifting for the day. You may feel tired, but it is best to get some light/moderate exercise if possible. A walk, swim or cardio workout are excellent choices! It is a good idea to drink water, an extra glass or two is sufficient. Pain reduction or increased mobility may be noticed right away, and often continue to improve for the next 24 to 48 hours. You may also be sore for a day or two, similar to doing a new exercise.

-
Do you work with children?
Yes. Like adults, children are subject to injury, stress and health problems. Their ability to recover is remarkable, but sometimes they need assistance too.
